“You will only get out of the Word what you are willing to put into it.” -Joyce Meyer
Well, we are human, as you all know. That means a lot of things, but one of those is that we are beings who most of the times try to get the possible best with the minimun effort. We do in our schools and works just the enough amount of work that will keep us from failing or getting fired. The story does not always go like that, but most of the time it does. And if we act that way in our normal life, of course we act that way in our christian life, even if we don’t notice it. We try to get as close as possible to God spending the least amount of time with Him. But, as we already know, things don’t work that way. In order to reap plentiful, we must spend a lot of time on our harvest. The more time we spend meditating the word of God, the more we will get out of it. If we meditate the word, we will soon be able to understand it better, we will get to find Christ in ourselves and we will be able to get closer to the will of God, because we will know him better. Most of our doubts and fears would vanish if our time on the word increased, because the Bible tells us who we are in God, who He is, how much He loves us and how much we are in Him. Let’s stop making circles around it and start doing what will bring uplift to our lives in Christ.
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will.” -Joshua 1:8
If you are not spending more time on praying, seeking the presence of God and reading your bible, how do you expect things to get better?
God has not given us the spirit of fear, but the spirit of power, of courage and resolution, to meet difficulties and dangers; the spirit of love to him, which will carry us through opposition. And the spirit of a sound mind, quietness of mind. The Holy Spirit is not the author of a timid or cowardly disposition, or of slavish fears. We are likely to bear afflictions well, when we have strength and power from God to enable us to bear them.
The LORD your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17
on guard
Lately I’ve been listening about a lot of people who have walked out of their faith when things got hard or when they thought temptation was to hard to handle, so they decided to give in. Drinking, drugs and sexual immorality, among other things have gotten control over a huge part of our generation who had beautiful futures ahead of them in the Lord.
But they decided they could handle sin by themselves, they tried to control their temptations and problems with their own hands instead of asking the help of the Almighty. They were scared or ashamed to turn to the Lord when they made mistakes.
What they forgot is that through our salvation we have been freed and sin and death have no more hold on us. The Bible says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. We might fall seven times, but then we rise again seven times. With our own strength we may not rise again, but in the Lord we can do all. The Bible tells us to be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. In order to strengthen in His mighty power we need to keep in constant communion with Him. We need to pray, to seek His face, to spend time in His presence. Is what He wants from us above all we can give Him, because is why He created us, to adore Him; and it’s not just what He wants, but what we need to get closer to Him, to understand Him and to start doing His will.
Be careful not to fall, what you think will never make you tumble can become your perdition when you less expect it. Guard your salvation with fear and trembling, and never cease to seek His presence, because if you are not getting closer to Him everyday, it is probable that you are getting farther. Be careful, may your every action seek to glorify Him, looking to do what you came to do to this earth, leaving behind every earthly desire, growing every day in faith, hope and love.
And lets pray for those we know who have fallen, may they rise again stronger in the Lord.
In everything You do, think about God and His kingdom, because everything you do is for Him.
Be thankful in all situations, knowing to be contempt in good times and in hard times.
Open your eyes, remain in constant prayer and be ready for what may come, watching not to fall on temptation.
Never cease to speak the truth, and never stop being true to what you are.
Don’t let the people around you intimidate you and don’t fall to do what they do, but rather be an impact on their lives, it is your responsibility.
Be joyful at all times, because God knows why you are facing the situations you are facing. Worrying is not an option, it does not solve problems.
